Adolescents & Teenagers

With extensive experience working with teenagers in both school and clinic settings, I'm here to help you and your child navigate what can be a confusing and stressful time. I help your teen develop and enhance their sense of self, which includes assisting them with exploring and expressing their needs, increasing their confidence and self esteem, and helping them make their way through high school.

Young & Emerging Adults

Emerging adults (best described as ages 18-30) are faced with unique challenges. Whether you've just graduated high school, are in college, just out of college, or considering a career change...transitions can be hard! Relationships are changing and your perspective on life is becoming fine tuned. I work with you to explore those challenges, and help you become an advocate for yourself.

Adults

I work with adults at various stages in their lives who are coming to therapy for a myriad of reasons. Sometimes there’s a specific area of their lives that they are wanting to work through, and sometimes there’s just an overarching sense of uneasiness that something isn’t right. I meet you wherever you are to start unpacking those feelings. I frame our work from a place of collaboration- working with you to get to know yourself a bit better and improve your sense of self. Whether you’re looking to address a particular stressor or you’re faced with the feeling that something’s missing- I’m here to help you.

Areas of Specialty

Some things I love to help with

Anxiety

Anxiety is an expected response to stress. It can look like feelings of worry, fear, irritability, unease, or overwhelm. When anxiety becomes persistent and takes a while to subside, it can start to interfere with your daily life and with your relationships. It can become overwhelming, and therapy can help you understand where the anxiety is stemming from as well as develop tools to move through it.

Depression

Depression can affect various areas of your life. You might link it to particular events, or find its origins unclear and confusing. There can seem to be a disconnect between how you’re living your life and how you want to feel. We will work to explore any underlying tension that might be affecting your depression, help you foster meaning in your life, and work to feel more connected to your authentic self.

High Sensitivity

“High sensitivity” is a trait defined by Dr. Elaine Aron that affects how people process sensory, emotional, and social information. Highly Sensitive People are deep thinkers, intense feelers, and thoughtful friends. Highly sensitive people might become easily overwhelmed, overstimulated, and exhausted.

Life Transitions

Whether big or small, positive or negative- change can be uncomfortable. When your daily routine shifts due to internal or external stressors, it can feel disruptive and frustrating. You may find it difficult to feel grounded as you’re adjusting to your new situation, and therapy can help you process those feelings and create new ways to find your grounding.

Self Esteem

Your relationship with yourself is one of the most important ones you’ll have. When self-esteem is lower than you’d like it to be, it can be difficult to move through life in the way that you’d like to. I work with clients to help them get to themselves better, identify the things that are important to them, feel more connected to themselves, and improve their sense of who they are.

Relational Stress

Relational stress refers to any kind of discontent related to relationships. That might be romantic relationships, family dynamics, stress with coworkers, or dissatisfaction within friendships. Whenever you’re feeling unhappy with the relationships in your life, therapy can help unpack where that discontent is coming from and find a way to move through the dissatisfaction.
